Studio Quick-Start Guide
Setup Your Recording Method
Grab a seat next to the RØDECaster Pro II™. We’ll walk through the steps for recording in three ways:
Record to a laptop, tablet, or phone:
Plug your device into the USB-C input on the right side of the RØDECaster Pro II™ tray. The RØDECaster should be recognized by your favorite video / audio apps.
Record to an external hard drive:
Plug your hard drive into the USB-C input on the right side of the RØDECaster tray. You should now see an icon at the top of the RØDECaster screen that shows you your drive and how much recording time is left on it.
Record to a microSD card:
Insert your card into the slot right above the RØDECaster tray. You should now see an icon at the top of the RØDECaster screen that shows you your microSD card and how much recording time is left on it.
Put on Your Headphones
Put on the headphones that are nearest to you. Find the amp attached under the table that's closest to you and turn the left knob to a comfortable volume. You should now hear yourself and any other participants.
Adjust Your Microphone
Gently pull the microphone toward you so that it's 4-6 inches from your mouth (remember to set it to the position you're most likely to be in during the recording session).
Set Your Levels
Follow the video above or the guide linked below to set your levels correctly. Your levels should never be in the red. Always set levels based on the loudest you and your crew will get.
Ready to Record!
Hit the green record button when you're ready. The button will turn red when it's recording. It’s always good practice to record a test with you and any other participants before starting the official recording.
